We will be reading “Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata in preparation for the next term at Folkuniversitetet.

Session 0 - week 21 - COMPLETE

Prep

No prep for this session! We are starting out to see what the pace should be like and experiment with how we want to run the session.

Summary

Today we started from the beginning and read through 2 and a half pages. One sentence at a time. Each paragraph we stopped and then translated the Japanese into English/Swedish, again in turns, sentence by sentence with a little discussion in between.

We decided a lower pace might be more realistic. And have set the goal to read 6 pages for next week. If it feels too slow, we can always up the pace!

We read pages 7 to 9, that is the beginning of the book until:
